Introduction

Punkinspel is a phoneme-block style alphabetic cypher for Deialect Riiding, inspired by Greenrune by @thealchemybook.

Vowels and Consonants

Each letter has both a container form (the larger) and an inscription form (the smaller). Both are listed alongside their romanisation and the phoneme(s) they represent. Where there are listed two romanisations separated by a comma, the first is the default, and the second is used either at the end of a morpheme or before <r>.

*/i/ and /u/ are respectively spelled <y> and <w>.

Syllables

Each letterform is organised into syllable blocks. The first onset consonant is always written in its container form. The remaining sounds of the syllable occurr left-to-right, top-to-bottom in their inline forms. The nucleus (the vowel) is itself written as a container within the onset when space permits. Below is an example of the word "Strengths" (schraynkths) /stʃɻeɪŋkt̪s/ with each segment of the syllable labeled 1-4 in order of occurence: /s/(1), /tʃɻ/(2), /eɪ/(3), /ŋkt̪s/(4)
